The Ministry of State for Military Production in Egypt has confirmed the success of the third edition of the International Defense Industries Exhibition (EDEX 2023), held over four days at the Al-Manara Center from December 4 to 7. This event, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, marks a significant milestone in Egypt's and Africa's military industry sector.

The Ministry showcased a range of unique and distinguished products at the exhibition, totaling 59 items, with 53 displayed in the ministry's indoor pavilion and 6 in the outdoor section. EDEX 2023, organized biennially by Egypt, is the largest event in the military manufacturing sector in Egypt and the African continent, bringing together major local and global companies in defense and armament, fostering an international forum for exchanging views and expertise.

The exhibition's organization aligns with the political leadership's vision to position Egypt on the global map of arms trade fairs.

The event witnessed significant activity from Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, the Minister of State for Military Production. He held numerous meetings, inspected various company booths, and signed several cooperation agreements aimed at collaboration and expertise exchange.

Minister Mostafa met with defense ministers and officials from Serbia, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Czech Republic, South Korea, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and representatives from global firms like Thales Group, Northrop Grumman, Beretta, TPS, SAMEL-90, and the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade.

He highlighted the Ministry's pivotal role in Egypt's military manufacturing, as well as in civilian manufacturing through the utilization of surplus capacities in its companies and units, contributing to national economic development.

Among the prominent products showcased by the Ministry were the 'Raad 200' rocket launcher on a tracked armored vehicle, developed collaboratively by five ministry-affiliated companies, and the 'Armored Steel,' essential for armored vehicle production, used in the upgraded 'Sina 200.' This vital product was produced in cooperation between Abu Zaabal Engineering Industries, Factory 100, and a private sector Egyptian entity.

The Minister also engaged in discussions with officials from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria, Oman, and Bahrain's defense ministries, focusing on enhancing cooperation between Egyptian military production companies and their Arab counterparts. The exhibition saw the signing of two memoranda of cooperation with Saudi Arabia, aimed at strengthening ties, forming strategic partnerships, and exchanging expertise, and with the Russian company Rosoboronexport for joint manufacturing of anti-aircraft systems.
