Egypt’s Domestic Production  of Grains Rose by 6.8%  in 2020

The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics monitored the development of the volume of domestic production of all kinds of grains; the amount of local production of total grains in Egypt amounted to about 22.37 million tons in 2020, compared to 20.94 million tons in the previous year, with an increase of about 6.8%, and the average per capita share in The year is 279.6 kg.

Data from the Statistics Agency said that the local production of grain was distributed among wheat production, of which the local production amounted to 9.10 million tons in 2020, compared to 8.56 million tons in the previous year, an increase of 6.3%, and the average per capita share per year was 156.1 kg and the self-sufficiency rate was 41.4% In 2020.

In addition to the amount of domestic production of rice, which amounted to about 4.80  million tons in 2020, compared to 3.12 million tons in the previous year, with an increase of 53.8% and an average per capita share per year of 29.6 kg and a self-sufficiency rate of 98.3% in 2020.
