Egypt’s COVID-19 Recovery Rate Reaches 84%

The recovery rate from COVID-19 at Egyptian isolation hospitals has reached 84%, after receiving the necessary medical care, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).

In a statement, the Ministry of Health revealed that the number of people recovering from the virus increased to 354,300 cases.

It is worth mentioning that, on Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 2,018 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 421,478.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,566 nationwide after the ministry announced 44 deaths.

Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 40.2% of people against the Coronavirus, according to health officials.

The country is also aiming to vaccinate 70% of citizens in the coming period.

Egypt’s vaccination campaign started in January 2021 using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.

About 500,000 citizens received COVID-19 booster shots, especially those with weak immunity.
