Egypt’s cotton exports recorded $134.7 million since the start of the current marketing season, with a handful of major trading companies capturing the lion’s share of overseas sales, according to an official report covering the period from September 1, 2025 to February 14, 2026.
Data show that 23 companies operating in the cotton trade divided the total export proceeds, with Abu Madi topping the list at $43 million. El-Ikhlas followed with $23.6 million, while Misr Cotton Ginning Company posted $22.4 million in exports. Alkan recorded $11.6 million, and Nile Modern Cotton reached $11.1 million during the reporting period.
The report further indicated that United Company exported $7.5 million worth of cotton, while El-Magd registered $6.1 million. Ragab Cotton and Banha each posted $1.2 million in shipments. Agrofood recorded $921,000, Delta Misr $821,000, and Al-Robaeia $804,000.
Other exporters included Abou El-Enein with $670,000, Abdel Meguid with $535,000, El-Karim with $522,000, El-Hassouni with $443,000, and Sandfawy New with $357,000. Nile Misr recorded exports valued at $516,000.
The remaining companies on the list, including El-Omda, Naturtex, El-Gazzar, El-Shehab, and El-Erfan, each exported less than $350,000 worth of cotton.
The export performance comes in line with directives from Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk aimed at reinforcing the global leadership of Egyptian cotton and accelerating the transition toward a green economy. The Agricultural Research Center, under the supervision of its president Adel Abdel Azim, continues to play a central role in enhancing the added value of Egypt’s cotton crop.
