Egypt's Annual Urban Inflation Accelerates for 3rd Straight Month to 26.5%

Monthly urban headline CPI inflation, published on Sunday by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), recorded 1.1% in October 2024 compared with 1.0% in October 2023 and 2.1% in September 2024.

On an annual basis, urban headline CPI inflation recorded 26.5% in October 2024 compared with 26.4% in September 2024.

Monthly core CPI inflation, computed by the Central Bank of Egypt, recorded 1.3% in October 2024 compared with 1.8% in October 2023 and 1% in September 2024.

On an annual basis, core CPI inflation recorded 24.4% in October 2024 compared with 25% in September 2024.

The monthly inflation note will be published on November 15, 2024.
