Egypt’s agricultural sector saw a strong boost in exports in 2024, with official data revealing a 9.3% increase in total agricultural exports compared to the previous year.
According to the latest report from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt's agricultural exports reached approximately $4.131 billion by the end of 2024, up from $3.78 billion in 2023. This marks a growth of around $351.91 million year-on-year.
Leading the surge in agricultural exports were shipments of regular beans, which more than doubled in value. CAPMAS reported that bean exports brought in approximately $300.7 million in 2024, compared to $134.84 million in 2023 — a significant increase of $165.86 million, or 123%.
The growth reflects Egypt’s expanding role in global agricultural markets and highlights the success of export-oriented strategies in key crop sectors, according to Al - Arabia Business.
It also suggest that improvements in agricultural practices, export logistics, and market access have all contributed to the positive trend.
