Egypt’s Agricultural Exports Hit 4.6 Million Tons since Start of 2023

El Sayed Al-Qusier, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of Egypt, confirmed that the total agricultural exports during the period from January 1, 2023 to July 5, 2023 amounted to about 4.65 million tons of agricultural products, an increase of 717, 896 tons from last year, which amounted to about 3.9 million.

Al-Quseir also pointed out that for the first time, Egyptian citrus exports reach one million and 900 thousand tons, according to a report received by the minister Ahmed Al-Attar, head of the Egyptian agricultural quarantine, on Egyptian agricultural exports during the first half of the year and the Minister of Agriculture; according to a press release issued today, Friday.

The minister thanked Egyptian farmers and exporters. He also praised the efforts of quarantine workers and laboratories of the ministry and the Export Council. He also praised the cooperation with Egyptian embassies and the Egyptian trade representation abroad, which contributed to achieving this record of Egyptian agricultural exports so far in order to support the national economy and the monetary reserve.

The quarantine report indicated that the most important agricultural exports are citrus, potatoes, fresh onions, potatoes, pomegranate, garlic, strawberries, beans, guava, tomatoes, grapes.

Where the total agricultural exports of citrus amounted to 1.9 million tons, in addition to the export of 876, 241 tons of fresh potatoes, ranking second in agricultural exports after citrus, while 323, 783 tons of onions were exported, occupying the third place in exports.

Grapes ranked fourth in agricultural exports with a total of 94,660 tons, while beans ranked fifth in exports with a total of 73,889 tons, while Egypt's potato exports ranked sixth with a total amount of 54,90 tons.

While Egypt's exports of tomatoes ranked seventh with a total of 44 thousand and 259 tons, followed in eighth place strawberries with a total of 23, 295 tons, while garlic ranked ninth in exports with a total amount of 21,470 tons. Gawafa ranked tenth in Egyptian agricultural exports with a total amount of 9,57 tons.
