Egypt’s participation in Tokyo 2020’s first official day got off to a magnificent start when rower Abdul Khaleq Elbana finished third in his heat of the Men’s Single Sculls in the early hours of Friday morning.
This stunning success allowed the Egyptian competitor Elbana to qualify to the rowing single culls quarter-finals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Elbana made the difference as he reached the quarter-finals after coming third in the preliminary stage with 7:03.44 minutes.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Oliver Zeidler came first with 7:00.40 minutes, and Japan’s Ryuta Arakawa came second with 7:02.79 minutes.
