Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Yemen’s legitimate government and its efforts to restore security and stability across the country during a meeting with Salem Saleh bin Buraik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting took place at Madbouly’s residence on the sidelines of the First Summit of the Global Alliance for Combating Hunger and Poverty, currently being held in Doha, where the Egyptian Prime Minister is representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Ambassador Walid El-Feki, Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar, also attended the meeting.

At the outset, Madbouly welcomed his Yemeni counterpart and expressed appreciation for the longstanding historical relations between the two brotherly nations.

The Egyptian Prime Minister emphasized Egypt’s firm and consistent stance in support of Yemen’s legitimate government in Aden, as well as Egypt’s commitment to preserving Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He underscored that Yemen’s security and stability are vital to regional security, particularly in the Red Sea region.

The Premier expressed Egypt’s continued support for all efforts aimed at achieving reconciliation and unity among the Yemeni people, stressing the importance of prioritizing national interests to guide Yemen toward peace and stability.

He also highlighted the need to secure maritime navigation in the Red Sea, in light of the recent tensions and their adverse impact on international trade routes and global supply chains.

For his part, bin Buraik praised the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Egypt and Yemen, expressing his gratitude for Egypt’s steadfast support during Yemen’s ongoing crisis and the warm hospitality extended to Yemeni nationals residing in Egypt.

He noted the negative repercussions of the current situation in Yemen on Red Sea and Suez Canal navigation, as well as on Yemen’s economic and humanitarian conditions.

Bin Buraik also commended Egypt’s constructive regional role, expressing his hope that the implementation of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement—aimed at ending the war in Gaza—will contribute to greater stability across the region and enhanced security in the Red Sea.
