Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty received a phone call with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, during which they discussed regional developments, peace efforts, and ways to deepen bilateral cooperation.
During the call, Abdelatty was briefed on the current dynamics of international efforts aimed at achieving peace, as well as on the situation of Ukraine’s energy sector following Russia’s large-scale attacks amid severe winter conditions. The Ukrainian side outlined the challenges facing critical infrastructure and ongoing measures to ensure energy stability.
The two ministers reviewed avenues to strengthen Egyptian-Ukrainian relations, particularly through follow-up on the implementation of outcomes from last year’s phone conversation between the Presidents of Egypt and Ukraine.
They reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in trade and food security, and discussed prospects for establishing a logistics hub in Egypt to facilitate the distribution of Ukrainian food products to regional and global markets.
The Ukrainian foreign minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, underscoring the importance of sustained dialogue and practical cooperation between Cairo and Kyiv.
