Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation on Monday with Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, as part of ongoing coordination and consultations on regional developments and issues of mutual concern.

The call reviewed ways to further strengthen Egyptian–Turkish relations, building on the positive momentum witnessed in recent months. Both sides discussed preparations for the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, to be co-chaired by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The upcoming meeting was described as an important step toward advancing bilateral partnership, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, in line with the shared interests of both countries.

The conversation also focused extensively on developments in the Gaza Strip. Abdelatty underscored the necessity of implementing the obligations of the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan, stressing the importance of supporting the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, deploying an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire, and preparing the ground for early recovery and reconstruction. He further emphasized the need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza without obstacles.

Regional developments in Sudan were also discussed. Abdelatty highlighted the urgency of reaching a humanitarian truce as a step toward a comprehensive ceasefire, reaffirming Egypt’s firm support for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He stressed the importance of safeguarding national institutions and ensuring safe corridors and unhindered access for humanitarian assistance to reach the Sudanese people.

Both ministers agreed on the importance of continued coordination between Cairo and Ankara to address regional crises and promote stability and peace across the region.
