Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, met today, Sunday, with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, on the sidelines of the meetings hosted in Riyadh regarding Syria.
During their meeting, Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s position on the Syrian crisis, emphasizing the need to preserve Syria's unity, national institutions, and sovereignty over its entire territory.
Moreover, he highlighted the importance of advancing a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the Syrian people, aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2254, and remains Syrian-owned.
Egyptian FM also stressed the necessity of intensifying regional and international efforts to combat terrorism, preventing the harboring of terrorist elements within Syrian territory, and ensuring Syria does not pose a threat to regional stability.
The discussions also covered the latest developments in Libya, the Gaza Strip, the Sudanese crisis, and the situation in the Horn of Africa, as well as the security of the Red Sea and efforts to achieve stability in Somalia while preserving its unity.
