On Saturday, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey and review regional developments of mutual concern.

The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to building on the positive momentum in Egyptian–Turkish relations and agreed on the importance of enhancing cooperation across political, economic, and investment sectors. They also emphasized continued consultation and coordination on regional and international issues to serve the shared interests of both nations and promote peace and stability in the region.

During the call, the ministers discussed the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the recent agreement to end the war in Gaza, reached under the plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Both sides stressed the importance of consolidating the ceasefire and maintaining calm as a foundation for achieving lasting regional stability.

Minister Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s commitment to the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, including a permanent cessation of hostilities and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance to civilians in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted the close coordination between Egypt and Turkey in monitoring the different stages of the agreement in partnership with regional and international actors.

The ministers also reviewed ongoing preparations for the International Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development in Gaza, to be held in Cairo in November. Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s keen anticipation of Turkey’s active participation in the conference and its support for international efforts to rebuild Gaza and reinforce regional stability.
