The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) referred 3 accountants and legal auditors to the Public Prosecution for tampering with records.

A statement by ETA stated today that these accountants and legal auditors helped their clients in tax evasion by adopting tax returns for these clients, and manipulating their financial records, books and accounts, in an attempt to delude the tax administration into declining profits.

They also concealed facts that they knew while performing their work and did not disclose them, within the documents submitted to the Egyptian Tax Authority, and testified that these documents were true despite knowing that they were incorrect so that these clients evaded paying the full tax due on their real profits.
