On the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, met with Lamia Abdel Ghaffar, Sudan’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

The meeting addressed the evolving situation in Sudan amidst current challenges, as well as ways to support stability and enhance cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly nations.

Tamim Khallaf, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudan during its ongoing crisis, emphasizing its steadfast commitment to preserving Sudan’s territorial integrity and supporting its national state institutions.

He also expressed Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to undermine Sudanese sovereignty or internal cohesion, asserting that Egypt stands firmly by the Sudanese people and looks forward to their safe transition out of this critical phase.

FM further referenced the recent meeting between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, highlighting the clear message that Sudan’s unity and stability represent a "red line" that cannot be crossed, and that Sudan’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

The spokesperson added that Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s intensive efforts within the international framework aimed at supporting a settlement path, halting escalation, and creating the necessary conditions for a political solution that preserves Sudan’s unity and national institutions while meeting the aspirations of its people.

Additionally, FM followed up on ongoing Egyptian projects and initiatives in Sudan designed to support reconstruction, recovery, and cooperation in humanitarian and service sectors, contributing to the alleviation of the Sudanese people's suffering and bolstering their resilience.
