Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
The two ministers reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and build on the growing momentum and close coordination between the two countries across various fields.
They also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the Iranian crisis and its implications for regional security and stability. Both sides stressed the importance of supporting diplomatic efforts to contain tensions, reduce escalation, and preserve stability in the region.
The call also addressed developments in Gaza and ongoing efforts related to the implementation of the first phase of the proposed plan, including early recovery and reconstruction projects and the work of the national committee tasked with administering the Strip.
The two ministers discussed the situations in Lebanon and Sudan, stressing support for Lebanon’s state institutions, security, sovereignty, and the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. They also underscored the importance of preserving Sudan’s unity and state institutions, rejecting any attempts to establish parallel entities, and supporting efforts toward a lasting ceasefire and a Sudanese-led political process.
The call concluded with both ministers reaffirming the importance of continued coordination and consultation on regional issues to support security and stability in the region.
