In a sign of the continued close coordination between Cairo and Riyadh, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates’ Affairs Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, focusing on bilateral relations and key regional issues of mutual concern.
During the call, both ministers reaffirmed the strength and depth of the fraternal ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, relations that continue to gain momentum across political, economic, and developmental fields. The two sides underscored their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and advancing a strategic partnership that serves the interests of both nations while supporting stability and security across the Middle East.
The conversation also addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. The ministers stressed the importance of continued Egyptian–Saudi coordination in supporting efforts to uphold and build upon the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, urging full implementation of its provisions to achieve a permanent ceasefire and alleviate the deepening humanitarian crisis facing Gaza’s population.
Abdelatty briefed his Saudi counterpart on preparations for the upcoming Cairo International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza, highlighting Egypt’s efforts to mobilize international support for reconstruction and long-term stabilization.
Turning to the situation in Sudan, both ministers reiterated the necessity of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the creation of conditions conducive to launching an inclusive political process that preserves Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s strong condemnation of the atrocities and grave violations occurring in the city of El-Fasher, calling for intensified regional and international action to support the Sudanese people and reinforce the role of national institutions amid one of the most severe crises in the country’s modern history.
The call concluded with both sides highlighting the importance of maintaining constant consultation and coordination, reflecting a shared vision toward reinforcing cooperation and addressing the region’s most pressing challenges.
