Egyptian Russian Foundation Issues "Egypt & Russia 500 Yrs of Cooperation”

The Egyptian Russian Foundation for Culture and Science" issued a book entitled "Egypt and Russia 500 Years of Cooperation". It was written by Egorin Alleg and translated by Sarah Hussein.

The book discusses the historical vision of the Egypt ancient civilization and the pyramids building miracle since the establishment of Djoser Pyramid in the Saqqara.

Djoser was built by the architect Imhotep; it displays the historical importance of Memphis, the ancient Egypt capital , as well as the Giza pyramids construction and the Abu Simbel Temple story.

The book narrates the visit of Johan Ludwik Berkhart as well as the visit of "Belzoni", the Italian discoverer who removed the sand from the temple.

Also, the book examines the construction history of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi castle which dates back to the Islamic era.

It also reviews the establishment history of the Egyptian Museum located in Tahrir Square, which contains a large number of Egyptian artifacts and a number of temples, including the Luxor and Karnak temples.

It contains the Ptolemaic era, the entry of the Romans to Egypt, the entry of Christianity and the Islamic conquest.

The book refers to the relations and historical stations between Egypt and Russia, highlights the role of relations between the Russian and Egyptian churches, the popular turnout from the Russian side to visit Egypt, its history as well as showing Russian scientists’ role in knowing the science Egyptology.

The scientists include "Vladimir Gulnishev" who studied the history of ancient Egyptian civilization, and highlighted the political and social role between Egypt and Russia.

The book reveals the modern era of relations between Egypt and Russia, which is the period from the Second World War to the reign of the late Gamal Abdel Nasser.

It explains the dimensions of the close relationship between Egypt and the Soviet Union during the rule of Abdel Nasser.

Dr. Hussein El-Shafei, the Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science head, explained that this book is a very interesting journey, and an important reading in the history and civilization of Egypt.

This publication begins with narrating the story of Egypt since the dawn of human written history, which is embodied in the historical value of the great ancient Egypt with its arts and creativity.

It also displays the struggle of its people and the noble moral value that preceded the laws by presenting a system of high moral values, and the civilized creativity represented in palaces, temples, obelisks, pyramids, statues, living tools, and traditions of death and life as well as different eras in Egypt's history.
