The Egyptian Red Crescent revealed the establishment of huge camps at the request of the Egyptian political leadership southwest of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
The camps can accommodate more than 6,000 people, and provide all relief and medical services, in addition to providing the basic needs of food and water on a daily basis for the camp’s residents.
Israeli media revealed huge camps recently established by Egypt inside the Palestinian city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip in order to shelter refugees in the south of the Strip.
The Israeli news website Zman said that Egypt set up a huge camp in Palestinian Rafah, in order to keep the problem within the Gaza borders, and not allow it to flow south towards the Sinai Peninsula.
The Hebrew website indicated that the numbers testify to the complexity of the situation in Palestinian Rafah. In normal days, the city’s population was about 200 thousand people, but it is now approaching one million people after many residents of Khan Yunis fled to it.
