EGP Shrinks 4 Pt. against Dollar

The exchange rate of the Egyptian pound fell against the US dollar in 14 banks by proportions ranging from 1-4 piastres by the end of trading, following Eid al-Adha holidays.

The pound fell in Banque Misr and National Bank of Egypt (NBE) one piastre to record EGP 16.52 to buy, and EGP 16.62 to sell.

The Egyptian currency also dropped by 4 piastres at Al-Baraka Bank and the Bank of Alexandria to settle at EGP 16.55 to buy and EGP 16.65 to sell.

The pound fell in Bank of Alexandria by 4 piasters, to record EGP 16.53 to buy, and EGP 16.63 to sell.

At the Commercial International Bank and the United Bank of Egypt, the pound scored EGP 16.51 and EGP 16.61, down by 3 piastres.

The pound also dropped 3 piastres at Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK) and the Housing and Development Bank (HDBK) to record EGP 16.55, 16.52 to buy and EGP 16.65, 16.62 to sell sequentially.

The pound at Arab African International Bank (AAIB) and the National Bank of Greece in Egypt (NBG) recorded EGP 16.52 for buying and EGP 16.62 for sale, a decrease of two piastres.

The stock exchange and banks operating in the Egyptian market resumed their activities yesterday after the end of Eid al-Adha holiday, which lasted for three consecutive days, starting August 11.
