Egypt Post Issues Commemorative Stamp to Mark 66 Years of Relations with Sri Lanka

Sherif Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egypt Post received Wednesday the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Cairo, heading a high-level delegation, and representatives of the Sri Lankan community in Egypt.

The ambassador in Cairo said: “Bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Egypt enjoy close cooperation in a wide range of fields, including economy, trade, culture, education and tourism,” noting that Egypt is an important partner of Sri Lanka in many economic and development initiatives."

Egypt Post issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Egyptian-Sri Lankan relations, hoping that the coming period will witness more cooperation and coordination in order to achieve interconnection and integration between the two countries.”

Farouk confirmed that the commemorative stamp is a civilizational and cultural documentation that confirms the historical relations between the two peoples.

It is worth noting that the commemorative postage stamp marking 66 years of Egyptian-Sri Lankan relations was designed with an artistic image that expresses the most prominent historical landmarks of the civilization of the two countries. 

The stamp size is (4 cm by 5 cm), multi-colored, and has a value of 10 pounds, and is equipped with “ QR Code”; with the aim of creating a rich interactive experience for those who possess these stamps, enabling them to acquire the necessary knowledge about this occasion in an innovative and attractive way.
