Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly received Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister ( PM) and Foreign Minister (FM) of Palestine, to discuss the ongoing efforts to maintain the ceasefire and rebuild the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Diab Al-Louh, the Palestinian Ambassador to Cairo.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and its commitment to rebuilding Gaza while ensuring that Palestinians remain on their land.
Egyptian PM further explained that Egypt’s Gaza Reconstruction Plan, which was recently approved by the Arab Emergency Summit in Cairo, will involve further coordination with regional and international partners as well as Palestinian authorities to agree on its implementation details.
Moreover, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza to put an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and allow for early recovery and reconstruction efforts to begin.
For his part, Palestinian PM agreed on the necessity of upholding the ceasefire in Gaza to facilitate progress in the early recovery and reconstruction process.
During the meeting, the Palestinian PM
reviewed ongoing coordination efforts with several Arab and Islamic countries and key international actors regarding the situation in Gaza and preparations for an upcoming Gaza Reconstruction Conference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination in the coming period to support efforts aimed at implementing the reconstruction plan and maintaining the ceasefire.
