Egyptian, Omani FMs Discuss Economic Partnerships, Crises in Yemen, Sudan & Gaza

Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs received, on Wednesday, his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.

The meeting comes within the framework of regular consultation and continuous coordination between the two brotherly nations to discuss ways to elevate bilateral relations and exchange assessments on regional issues of common interest.

​The two ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation and ongoing action programs across various fields, exploring ways to develop further economic and investment partnership opportunities to enhance mutual benefits and shared interests.

​On the political front, both ministers affirmed the alignment of their visions and the integration of their efforts to stabilize security in the region.

They emphasized adherence to the rules of international law, appealing to the voice of wisdom and justice, and employing all available peaceful means to achieve reconciliation among all parties in accordance with the supreme interests of states, their sovereignty, and national security.

​Moreover, the two sides also renewed their firm positions in support of the Palestinian people's right to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the June 4, 1967 borders.

They further stressed the necessity of lifting the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, to allow the immediate entry of all relief and humanitarian supplies and services, paving the way for reconstruction and a dignified life for the population.

​Regarding developments in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, both ministers affirmed their support for the Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in Riyadh to reach a consensual settlement for the issue of Southern Yemen. This aims for a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement that preserves the sovereignty, unity, and stability of this dear Arab nation, fulfilling its people's aspirations for security and prosperity.

​The ministers also addressed the latest developments in the sisterly Republic of Sudan, emphasizing the importance of supporting national institutions, ending fighting and escalation, protecting civilians, and facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid through UN agencies and specialized civil society organizations.

Additionally, they expressed support for efforts to reach a consensual political solution that preserves the legitimate rights and choices of the Sudanese people and secures their sovereignty and stable coexistence with neighboring countries.

​Moreover, the two ministers expressed great pride in the strength of the fraternal and historical relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman.

They also reaffirmed a shared commitment to continued coordination, consultation, and constructive cooperation to serve common interests and strengthen the foundations of regional security, in implementation of the directives of both countries' leaderships and in response to the aspirations of their two peoples.
