Egyptian scientist Mohamed Tharwat, one of the candidates for the Nobel Prize in Physics, met with Ahmed Shaheen, head of the Egyptian Consulate General in Los Angeles, US.

The encounter highlighted Shaheen's support for Egyptian scientists.

Tharwat is a Professor of the Physics of Light at the University of Arizona. He was one of the scientists who were working with the prominent chemist Ahmed Zewail.

He mamaged to use the attosecond laser to imagine and control the movement of electrons in solid materials and glass, which paves the way to the development of photoelectrons that operate at attosecond speeds a billion times faster than the electrons currently present.
