On Monday, a coronavirus-infected man was declared dead of cardiac arrest as a result of acute pneumonia at a private hospital in Shebin El-Kom, Menoufia Governorate, Egypt.

The hospital's doctors, immediately, contacted the ambulance staff in Menoufia, to transport the deceased citizen to his village to be buried there.

But, after finishing all preparations to transfer the deceased's body to the ambulance car, the driver was informed that the deceased has come alive again after performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for him.

On his part, Dr. Amjad Abdel Hamid, head of Ambulance authority in Menoufia, confirmed that the ambulance had already moved to the hospital to transfer the deceased body

But everyone was surprised that the deceased came alive again, confirming that the patient was transferred to one of the specialized government hospitals to complete treatment.

Notably, Egypt registered on Sunday 358 new coronavirus infections and 15 deaths, raising the total cases to 115,541 and 6,636 fatalities since the beginning of the virus outbreak.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli called on citizens to abide by the precautionary measures to fight COVID-19 otherwise the state will take difficult steps similar to those applied before, pointing out that some countries took stringent measures including total lockdown.

Madbouli stressed the importance of providing medicines in government hospitals and pharmacies, referring to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on the importance of buying medical equipment within the framework of the Central Bank of Egypt’s initiative in order to promote the efficiency of hospitals as part of good governance.

The ministry raises its preparedness at all the country’s ports and airports to monitor the virus developments, receiving inquiries from citizens about the virus through its hotline 105 or 15335 or through on the Sehet Misr (Egypt’s health) mobile application.
