Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigrants, and International Cooperation, received Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Kuwait, on Sunday.
The two ministers held a session of political consultations aimed at bolstering bilateral relations and enhancing joint coordination regarding regional and international developments.
Tamim Khallaf, foreign ministry official spokesperson, stated that the ministers praised the deep-rooted historical ties and fraternal bonds between Egypt and Kuwait while emphasizing the importance of continuing to support bilateral relations across various sectors to fulfill the aspirations of both peoples for development and prosperity.
Both ministers also expressed their anticipation for the fourteenth session of the Joint Committee scheduled to be held before the end of this year, which is expected to push joint cooperation toward broader horizons.
Moreover, Abdelatty highlighted promising opportunities in infrastructure, real estate development, industry, and energy, while also proposing enhanced trilateral cooperation in Africa through coordination between the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
Regarding regional security, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Kuwait and condemned any attacks or attempts to undermine its sovereignty, stressing that Kuwait's security is an integral part of Egypt's security.
He also expressed appreciation for the support provided by Kuwait to the Egyptian community during the current delicate circumstances.
The discussions further addressed efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and end ongoing conflicts, including updates on U.S.-Iranian negotiations.
Furthermore, Abdelatty briefed his counterpart on his recent visit to Washington and the quadrilateral meeting held in Antalya with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, reiterating that Gulf security concerns must be considered in any future regional arrangements.
For his part, Kuwaiti FM praised Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining regional stability and its continuous efforts to strengthen Arab solidarity.
