Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, met today, Sunday, with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, on the sidelines of the Syria-focused meetings in Riyadh.
Tamim Khallaf, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the meeting reaffirmed the unique Egyptian-Jordanian relations and the shared commitment of both nations to expand bilateral cooperation in line with the directives of their respective leaderships.
The two ministers exchanged views on regional issues of mutual concern, particularly developments in Gaza. They agreed on the urgent need to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, condemning its flagrant violations of international law and humanitarian law. Both ministers stressed the importance of achieving an immediate ceasefire and ensuring unimpeded humanitarian aid access to the Gaza Strip.
They also firmly rejected any forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands in both the West Bank and Gaza.
The discussion further addressed the situation in Syria, with both ministers emphasizing principles for restoring security and stability, including respect for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
They highlighted the necessity of joint efforts to combat all forms of terrorism and extremism and underscored the importance of launching a comprehensive political process to fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people and maintain stability.
