Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Saturday with Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to discuss bilateral relations and the Arab plan for early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza.
Abdelatty praised the progress in relations between Egypt and Hungary across various fields, emphasizing the importance of leveraging the current momentum to further enhance cooperation, particularly in the trade and investment sectors.
He also briefed his Hungarian counterpart on the outcomes of the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo, highlighting the strong international support for the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for Gaza, which was adopted by both the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to mobilizing international support for the implementation of this plan.
In this context, FM Egypt’s preparations to host an international conference on Gaza’s reconstruction, in collaboration with the Palestinian government and the United Nations. This effort aligns with Egypt's ongoing mediation efforts to solidify the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and implement its three-phase roadmap.
For his part, Hungarian FM commended Egypt’s pivotal role in developing the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for Gaza and preparing to host the international conference.
He also praised Egypt’s constructive efforts in promoting security and stability in the Middle East and its key role in ensuring the ceasefire holds in Gaza.
