Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, held a virtual meeting on Monday with members of the Egyptian community in Jordan, as part of ongoing efforts to monitor the situation of Egyptian nationals across the region amid escalating military tensions.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Nabil Habashi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Haddad El-Gohary, Egypt’s Ambassador to Jordan Khaled El-Abyad, and the Consul in Aqaba Ahmed Ismail Othman.
During the meeting, Abdelatty stressed the priority the ministry places on supporting Egyptian communities in Gulf and Mashreq countries through continuous communication and regular follow-up, particularly in light of current regional developments. He reassured participants that the overall situation of Egyptian nationals abroad remains stable.
Deputy Foreign Minister Habashi urged members of the community to adhere to local laws and regulations in Jordan, praising the role of the Egyptian embassy in Amman and the consulate in Aqaba in providing assistance, facilitating consular services, and ensuring the safety of Egyptian citizens.
The meeting included an interactive discussion with participants, addressing a range of issues related to their conditions and needs. Officials listened to questions and suggestions, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to providing ongoing support and care for Egyptians abroad.
