Egyptian Expats’ Dignity Untouchable: Makram

Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram received on Tuesday the Egyptian citizen Hassan Salama, who was violently attacked on board a Romanian airline flight, to check on his health.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister of Immigration for Expatriates Affairs Mazen Fahmy.

At the outset of the meeting, Salama thanked the minister for her sincere efforts to follow up the incident, and the ongoing investigations.

Moreover, the Egyptian citizen expressed pride in his country’s interest to defend his rights, noting “Egypt always stands behind its citizens.”

On her part, the Minister said that the state with all its institutions supports Salama. “Egyptian expats’ dignity is untouchable,” she stressed.

Moreover, Makram noted that she has contacted international lawyer Khaled Abu Bakr to help the Egyptian citizen, who wants to file a lawsuit against the Romanian airlines because of the physical and moral damages, he and his family were subjected to.

In addition, Makram invited Salama and his family to visit Galala area in the Red Sea, as the later showed intention to invest in Egypt and to stay in his homeland.
