The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is seeking to strengthen collaboration with the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM) as part of broader efforts to enhance regional market integration, improve competitiveness, and attract greater investment across Arab financial markets.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Omar Reda, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, and Fadi Kanso, Secretary General of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets, where both sides explored new avenues for strategic cooperation aimed at supporting the long-term development of the region's capital markets.

According to officials, discussions focused on expanding collaboration between the Egyptian Exchange and Arab stock exchanges through the federation by promoting knowledge exchange, adopting international best practices, and advancing market development initiatives.

The two sides also examined opportunities to foster financial innovation, strengthen capital market infrastructure, and improve operational efficiency, measures viewed as essential for increasing the attractiveness of Arab markets to both domestic and international investors while enhancing their global competitiveness.

Regional and international economic and financial developments were also high on the agenda, with participants assessing their impact on capital market performance across the Middle East and North Africa. Officials stressed the importance of continued coordination on regulatory reforms, technological transformation, and emerging global trends reshaping the financial services industry.

Both the Egyptian Exchange and the Arab Federation of Capital Markets reaffirmed their commitment to expanding joint initiatives that support greater integration among Arab capital markets, strengthen their presence in the global financial system, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
