An alliance comprising Egyptian engineering firms Petrojet and Enppi has been selected to sign a six-year engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) framework agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) covering projects valued at more than $6 billion, Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said on Sunday.
Under the agreement, the Petrojet–Enppi consortium will become one of four global alliances eligible to bid for projects within PDO's portfolio during the six-year framework period.
The ministry said the agreement forms part of Egypt's strategy to expand the international presence of its state-owned petroleum service companies and increase exports of engineering and technical services.
According to the ministry, the consortium is expected to support Oman's In-Country Value (ICV) objectives by transferring technical expertise, training Omani engineers, and increasing the participation of local companies and domestic supply chains in project execution.
The ministry added that the agreement is expected to strengthen energy-sector cooperation between Egypt and Oman while contributing to the Sultanate's Oman Vision 2040 development strategy.
