The Egyptian community in England gathered up a day before the big celebrations of the 6th of October War takes places as lots of important figures and prominent community members joined the celebrations. The gathering was attended by Tarek Adel, Ambassador of Egypt in London, in addition to Hesham Sultan the Military attaché.

The celebrations mark the 46th year of Egypt's victory against Israel, regaining Sinai in the process. The war is considered to be one of the most iconic wars to take place in our modern history.

Egypt's military prominence in the six day war paved the way for the subsequent peace process. The 1978 Camp David Accords that followed led to the return of the Sinai to Egypt, as the world watched late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat venture into Israel land with his head held high to legitimize the accord.
