Relief operations in the Gaza Strip have seen a significant surge in recent hours despite the restrictions imposed by the Israeli army at the Karem Abu Salem crossing.
According to domestic sources, Palestinian trucks have been actively transporting aid shipments from the crossing to several warehouses across the enclave, including a major storage facility east of Al-Zawaida.
The supplies, arriving from Egypt, are subsequently redistributed to various displacement zones throughout the territory.
The increased activity comes as part of Egypt’s continuous humanitarian support to Gaza since the outbreak of the conflict. The Egyptian emergency committees have notably expanded their operations in recent days, particularly following the severe weather system that flooded large areas of the strip.
New relief convoys departed from the main warehouse toward northern Rafah, carrying tents, tarpaulins, and food supplies to provide urgent assistance to families affected by both the Israeli offensive and the harsh weather conditions. These efforts also include the establishment of 15 fully equipped aid camps by the Egyptian committee operating inside Gaza, aimed at offering shelter and essential services to displaced residents.
Officials emphasized that the stepped-up operations reflect a rapid response to the growing humanitarian needs across the strip, as civilians continue to face worsening living conditions amid ongoing hostilities and unstable weather.
