The Media Center of Egypt’s Cabinet has addressed circulating reports regarding the emergence of bird flu in some Egyptian farms, confirming that the claims are unfounded and have not affected poultry prices.

According to the statement, communication with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation confirmed that no cases of bird flu have been detected in any poultry farms across the country.

The ministry emphasized that its active surveillance committees are intensifying inspections nationwide, covering farms, poultry markets, and migratory bird routes as a precautionary measure. Routine comprehensive testing is conducted, including sampling for laboratory analysis at the Animal Health Research Laboratory, to ensure the health and safety of birds.

The statement also noted that recent minor increases in poultry prices are linked to seasonal social and religious events, during which demand rises, rather than any disease outbreak. Prices remain approximately 20% lower than the same period last year.

Egypt’s poultry exports have also seen significant growth, reinforcing the absence of any health-related issues in domestic production.

Additionally, the ministry highlighted that the number of biosecure poultry facilities is increasing, in line with World Organization for Animal Health standards, reflecting the stability of the sector. Overall poultry and table egg production has risen by 14% compared to the previous year, further underscoring the strength and safety of Egypt’s poultry industry.
