Egyptian Bourse Shows Mixed Performance ... Market Cap Loses EGP 2.63 Bln

The performance of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) indices varied, during Sunday's trading session, amid an occasional trend, with Egyptian and Arab investors' dealings tending to sell, while foreign investors tended to buy.

The main index EGX30 declined during today's session by 0.35% to close at 17235 points, while the index of medium and small-sized index "EGX70 EWI" rose by 0.14% to end the session at 2982 points.

The broader index EGX100 EWI increased by 0.06% to close at 4524 points, while the EGX50 EWI decreased by 0.21% to close at 3048 points.

Market cap lost about EGP 2.63 billion during today's session to close at EGP 1.113 trillion compared to EGP 1.116 trillion at the end of last week's trading.

Up to 403.8 million shares were traded with a turnover of about EGP 1.2 billion through 57.700 transactions.

Trading took place during today's session on the shares of 200 companies, of which the shares of 49 companies increased, 76 companies maintained the previous closing price, and the shares of 75 companies decreased.

In terms of investor transactions, Egyptian investors' dealings in stocks tended to sell, recording a net worth of about EGP 4.02 million.

Arab transactions also tended towards selling, netting EGP 13.4 million, while foreigners' transactions tended to buy shares, netting EGP 17.4 million.
