Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Majeed Saqr met with the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Babikyan, who is currently visiting Egypt.
Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Egypt, Armen Sarkissian, also participated in the meeting.
The meeting addressed a range of issues related to potential cooperation in the field of defense.
The two sides also exchanged views on matters concerning international and regional security.
One of the major stops of the visit was attending the EDEX 2025 International Arms Exhibition in Cairo, where Babikyan, accompanied by Sarkissian, visited the exhibition pavilions, learned about the latest developments in military technologies, and discussed prospects for cooperation.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Babikyan and Sarkissian held a number of meetings with companies participating in the exhibition and presented a presentation on the potential of Armenia's defense industries, ongoing projects, and strategic trends in this sector.
At the conclusion of the visit, Sarkissian met with the head of the Armed Forces Armament Authority Chief Major General Mohamed Adly Abdelwahid.
The meeting addressed the possibilities of expanding military-technical cooperation and presenting Armenian defense industries to the Egyptian side, and studying joint initiatives of mutual interest.
The officials have reached an understanding on enhancing cooperation and implementing military-technical programmes between the two countries.
