The activities of the joint Egyptian-American training “Bright Star 2023” were launched, and its activities will continue until September 14 at the combat training fields at the Mohamed Naguib Military Base and a number of naval and air bases in Egypt.
Bright Star will see the participation of more than 8,000 fighters from 19 countries, in addition to the participation of 15 other countries in as an observer, in addition to legal experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
During the opening ceremony, Osama Naga, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to the forces participating in the training, pointing out the importance of joint Egyptian-American training “Bright Star”.
Bright Star is considered one of the most prestigious training exercises in the region, as it represents a strong addition to the participating forces through learning about everything new in the field of military training, in addition to learning about modern military tactics for various combat doctrines.
On his part, Matthew Reed, Director of Training from the American side noted that the training works to enhance joint capabilities to solve problems, confront challenges, and unify military concepts among the armed forces of the participating countries, Hoping for the continuation and development of training in the coming years to strengthen ties between the participating countries.
Moreover, the commanders of the participating countries' forces inspected an exhibition of weapons and equipment involved in the training, expressing their happiness with the high morale of the participating forces from various countries.
