The Egyptian Ambassador in Abidjan Wael Badawy was awarded, Friday, the “Africa Road Builders Babacar Ndiaye Trophy 2020,”.
On behalf of the African Development Bank President, Mike Salawou, pision manager of transport and infrastructure department at the bank, handed the award to Badawy at the embassy headquarters in Abidjan.
The ambassador expressed, in his speech, Egypt's appreciation for devoting the award to the President El- Sisi, stressing that this award showing an appreciation for the all great achievements, carried out under the auspices of the President in the transportation sector.
The ambassador added that the International Arbitration referred, in particular, to a number of the most major national projects in the sector and their contribution to providing job opportunities, which helps in improving the citizens' standard of living.
He affirmed Egypt's interest, as a founding member of the African Union, in developing infrastructure in Africa and supporting African initiatives to promote integration in the African community, referring to the Cairo-Cape Town axis.
On his part, Salawou hailed the major projects that Egypt has built during the past years, and the strong relationship between Egypt and the bank, stressing that Egypt is a key partner to the bank, being one of the biggest shareholders in its capital.
