Ambassador Tamer Hammad, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan, presented his credentials to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the ceremony, the Uzbek President praised the historical relations between his country and Egypt, stressing the pivotal role played by Egypt at the regional and international levels. He explained that Egypt is a leading country in the African continent, and that Uzbekistan looks forward to benefiting from its distinguished relations with Egypt to enhance cooperation with African countries, in a way that serves the common interests of both sides.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Uzbek counterpart, and expressed Egypt's interest in enhancing economic and trade cooperation with Uzbekistan, expressing his determination to work on opening new horizons for investment and partnerships between the two countries.
He also stressed the importance of enhancing tourism exchange and overcoming all obstacles facing the flow of tourists from both countries, in addition to supporting parliamentary, cultural, educational and research center cooperation to achieve common interests between the Egyptian and Uzbek peoples.
