Egyptian actor and director Ahmed Magdy launched a campaign about the danger of plastic on social media.

His latest photo session warns people against plastic consumption and its effect on humans and environment.

Magdy reveals that Egyptians spend 2 Billion EGP annually on single-use plastic bags.

He explained that plastic does not only harm ocean creatures and animals, but it also affects  human reproductive system.

Chemicals such BPA in plastic can increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes. It is linked to cancers, birth defects and impaired immunity.

He provides a list of solutions for reducing the use of plastic in everyday life.

Some of the solutions include replacing plastic bags with a reusable fabric bag or a backpack while shopping.

He advised people to use reusable water bottles instead of buying a plastic one everyday.

People supported his creative campaign and suggested more solutions such as holding a reusable mug instead of paper or plastic cups or replacing plastic toothbrush with biodegradable bamboo tree brushes.
