EgyptAir said it will resume its direct flights between Cairo and Benghazi, starting tomorrow, Monday, after an 11-year hiatus due to the deteriorating security situation.

Amr Abu Elenien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for EgyptAir, said that the company will operate a daily direct flight between Cairo and Benghazi on Boeing B737-800.

Abul-Enein explained that this comes within the framework of the continuation of the ambitious plan set by the company within the vision of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, to strengthen its presence on the African continent.

He indicated that the company pays special attention to points of strategic importance, including Benghazi, with the presence of many Egyptians residing and working in Libya, in addition to its endeavor to enhance trade and economic exchange between Egypt and Libya.
