EgyptAir Resumes Gulf, Iraq Flights as Regional Travel Gradually Recovers

EgyptAir announced the gradual resumption of flights to key Gulf destinations and Iraq, signaling a cautious recovery in regional air travel following recent disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions.

The national carrier said it has restarted operations to Sharjah, Dubai, and Riyadh at a rate of one flight per day, while increasing frequency to two daily flights for Abu Dhabi, Dammam, and Amman.

In a further expansion, EgyptAir confirmed that beginning April 14, it will operate daily flights to Erbil and Baghdad, restoring air links with Iraq.

The airline added that services to Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, and Beirut remain subject to regulatory approvals, noting that coordination with relevant authorities is ongoing. Updated schedules will be announced once the necessary clearances are secured.

The step reflects improving conditions in regional airspace and a gradual easing of travel disruptions that had affected flight operations across the Middle East in recent weeks.

Airlines across the region have been recalibrating schedules in response to shifting security conditions, with carriers adopting phased resumptions to balance demand recovery with operational safety.
