EgyptAir announced on Tuesday an order for ten wide-body Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and the company's president Yahya Zakaria told reporters at the Dubai Airshow that the delivery of the aircraft will begin in 2025 and continue until 2027.
EgyptAir, Egypt’s national carrier, said the deal, which did not announce its value, was aimed at meeting the growing demand for air transport.
According to Zakaria, EGYPTAIR will self-finance the value of the deal.
When added to the company's fleet, the A350-900 aircraft contribute to reducing fuel consumption by 25٪, thereby reducing carbon emissions from flights, according to a statement on Tuesday.
Zakaria said that the new aircraft “each has a capacity of 340 seats and is equipped with the latest technology, along with new Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, known for their modern design and high efficiency in reducing emissions and rationalising fuel consumption.”
