EgyptAir announced the introduction of two new direct routes to the United States, connecting Cairo with Los Angeles and Chicago using its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
This marks a historic milestone for EgyptAir, representing its first direct connection to the U.S. West Coast. The expansion reinforces the airline’s growing network and strengthens Cairo’s position as a key hub linking Africa, the Middle East, and North America.
With the addition of Los Angeles and Chicago, EgyptAir now serves five destinations in the United States, alongside its existing routes to New York, Washington, D.C., and Newark.
The inaugural flight to Los Angeles is scheduled for May 2026, operating three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to meet growing passenger demand and provide flexible travel options. Flights to Chicago will commence in June 2026, also three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company described the launch as a “significant milestone” in the airline’s U.S. expansion strategy. He highlighted that the new routes will enhance EgyptAir’s global network, positioning Cairo as a vital transit hub between Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Adel added that passengers will benefit from seamless travel options, and the routes will strengthen EgyptAir’s status as a leading transatlantic carrier amid a comprehensive fleet modernization program.
