EgyptAir announced that its B737-800 flight No. MS4413, which was heading from Burj Al Arab Airport to Jeddah International Airport without passengers, was scheduled to transport pilgrims after performing Umrah rituals from Jeddah Airport to Burj Al Arab Airport, shortly after its takeoff. A sudden technical malfunction occurred in one of the plane's systems, which resulted in the flight commander returning again to Burj Al Arab Airport in accordance with safety and security procedures.
EgyptAir added in a press statement, this evening, Friday, that out of the company’s concern for passengers, another Boeing B737-800 plane was prepared, which took off from Cairo Airport to Jeddah Airport to transport 140 passengers from Jeddah Airport.
