EgyptAir announced that it diverted Flight No. MS985, which was heading from Cairo Airport to New York Airport on Thursday to Washington Airport, like many other companies, which resulted in the cancellation of Flight No. MS986, departing from New York to Cairo on the same day.
The cancellation was based on the announcement of John F. Kennedy Airport in New York to close the arrival and departure hall due to a major failure in energy sources.
The flag carrier added, in a press statement on Friday, that the closure is scheduled to extend until Saturday, 7:00 am Cairo local time, which led to the cancellation of EgyptAir flight No. MS985 and No. MS986 from Cairo and New York today.
EgyptAir would like to extend its apology for this event, and calls on all its customers to review the reservation contact points to make all the necessary facilities in such circumstances that are completely beyond the control of the company.
