The Ministry of Agriculture asserted that Egypt's supplies from wheat is enough for four months, in addition, the season of the wheat harvest in the country will start in the April which will give the country extra amount of supplies that enough for 10 months, Sputnik reported on Saturday.
The Head of Wheat Sector at the ministry said that there is a regular observation for lands and crops, adding that the expected produced quantity of wheat for this year ranges between four and five million tons which secures Egypt needs for at least nine or ten months.
It is worthy to mention that Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Thursday with the Governor of the Egyptian Central Bank to make sure of the availability of the country’s wheat needs.
Egypt is the biggest importer of wheat from both Russia and Ukraine, and the news of the Russian military operations caused a jump in the prices of wheat and oil globally.
During the meeting, both officials reviewed Egypt’s supplies from wheat, and oil after the Russian-Ukrainian conflicts.
