Egypt has welcomed the ceasefire and integration agreement reached in Syria, describing it as a positive step toward advancing a comprehensive political settlement to the crisis.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt said the agreement could help launch an inclusive political process that brings together all components of Syrian society, supports state institutions, and preserves Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Cairo reaffirmed its firm position in support of the Syrian state and stressed the importance of empowering national institutions to fulfill their role in maintaining security, protecting national resources, and safeguarding the rights of the Syrian people.
The statement also underscored the need to enhance stability and improve humanitarian and living conditions across Syria, while ensuring sustainable security for all segments of society and strengthening national cohesion.
Egypt reiterated its continued support for regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a lasting political solution that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people for peace, stability, and development.
