Egyptian, Turkish FMs Consult on Regional Escalation, Sudanese Crisis

Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

The call comes as part of the periodic consultation and coordination between Cairo and Ankara to bolster bilateral relations and exchange views on regional developments, including the military escalation in the region and the situation in Sudan.

​The two ministers discussed the latest regional updates in light of the dangerous military escalation currently witnessed in the area.

They also exchanged perspectives on regional developments, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and prioritizing diplomatic paths and political solutions to contain the situation. 

Both ministers further warned of the catastrophic and grave consequences of the continued cycle of violence and the expansion of conflict, which threatens regional and international peace and security.

​Regarding the situation in Sudan, the two ministers exchanged views on recent developments, reaffirming the necessity of respecting Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. They underscored the need to support Sudan's national institutions and rejected any equivalence between these institutions and any militias. 

Additionally, they stressed the importance of advancing de-escalation efforts and creating a conducive environment to resume a comprehensive political process in Sudan.
